Gas leaks are not something you wait on. The smell of gas, even a faint one, means something needs to get checked right away. It's a safety issue - full stop. We got the call on this one and got to work.
Here's what we were working with - an older galvanized gas line with a compromised section that needed to come out. The existing shutoff valve wasn't up to par either. On a gas line, you want every connection and every component to be solid. Old corroded fittings and worn-out valves are where problems hide.
We removed the bad section and replaced it with new black iron pipe, a properly rated ball valve, and a union fitting - all put together clean and tight. That red-handled ball valve you see on the finished side isn't just for looks. It gives the homeowner a reliable shutoff point right there at the line, which matters a lot if you ever need to cut gas to that section fast.
Gas line repair isn't something to patch together and hope for the best. Every connection gets checked. Every joint gets tested. We don't call a job done until we're confident the line is holding and safe. That's just how we work.
If you're in San Antonio and you suspect a gas issue - whether it's a smell you can't explain or an appliance that's acting up - don't sit on it. Gas line problems don't get better on their own, and honest, dependable service is what we're here to provide.
