When a drain line breaks underneath a home's foundation, there's no easy shortcut. You can't just patch it from above and call it a day. The damaged section has to be reached - and that means tunneling beneath the slab to get eyes on the actual problem.

That's exactly what we were dealing with at this Bulverde home. The drain line had cracked and failed right at the elbow, buried under the foundation with no access from the surface. The pipe had separated at the joint, meaning wastewater had nowhere to go but into the surrounding soil. Left alone, that kind of damage gets worse fast.

We tunneled in, removed the broken section, and installed new pipe and fittings with proper mechanical support so the new line sits secure and won't shift over time. The pipe clamps and brackets you see holding everything in place aren't overkill - that's just how under slab drain repair should be done. Support matters down there where the soil moves and there's nothing else holding things in position.

The cracked elbow we pulled out tells the whole story. Clean breaks running right through the fitting, with deteriorated material around the joint. That kind of failure doesn't give you much warning - one day drains are slow, then things start backing up or you catch a smell that shouldn't be there. That's usually when people call us, and honestly, the sooner the better.

Under slab drain repair is one of those jobs that really has to be done correctly the first time. There's no sense in going back into the ground if you can avoid it. We take the extra steps up front - proper tunneling, solid pipe support, quality fittings - so the repair holds for the long haul.
